We collect only what we need to run your account, keep it secure and save your progress. We do not sell your personal information, show ads or use advertising cookies. Anonymous product analytics is optional and you can switch it off in Cookie settings.

What we collect

• Account details from your sign-in provider: name, email and account ID. We never see your password.
• Sign-in and security records: IP address, browser type and approximate location, to protect accounts and stop account sharing.
• Your study progress and answers, so you can pick up where you left off.
• Messages and error reports you send us.

How long we keep it

Most security and activity records are deleted after 30 days. Account details are kept while your account is open.

Your choices

You can ask to see, download, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing admin@thecodexes.com.

These terms are the agreement between you and TheCodexes.com for using our review books, QuestionBank, ChartWalk and other study tools.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. One account is for one person; sharing an account or copying content is not allowed.

What it is, and is not

An educational study tool, not medical advice. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the USMLE®, NBME®, FSMB® or Prometric®, and practice scores do not predict your result.

Passes

Access is sold as fixed-term passes that do not renew automatically. Prices and taxes are shown before you pay.

Our content

Each licensed copy carries your name or a hidden code so leaked copies can be traced.

This setting shows our standard cookie settings. Your own study data is always kept, because your scores and progress are the product.

Passes are fixed-term and never renew on their own, so you are never charged again unless you buy another pass.

Passes (QuestionBank, ChartWalk, Review book access)

• You can ask for a refund within 7 days of activating a pass.
• To qualify, no more than 10% of the pass may have been used (questions answered, ChartWalk cases opened or chapters read).
• A 10% cancellation fee applies to every refund, with a minimum of $10.
• A pass you never activated can be refunded if you ask within 180 days of purchase. After that we offer store credit instead.

Printed books bought from us

• Return within 7 days of delivery, unused and in new condition.
• Shipping is not refunded. We refund once the book arrives and has been checked.

Not refundable

• Extensions, resets and expired passes.
• AudioNotes, e-books and other downloads once opened or downloaded.
• Store credit and promotional or free access.

Bought somewhere else

Purchases made through an app store, Amazon or another retailer are refunded by that seller under their rules. Access provided by your school or program is handled by that institution.

How to ask

Use Send us a message from the email on your account and include your order number. We review each request individually and refund to the original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA, so everyone preparing for their board can use the site, including with screen readers, keyboards and magnifiers.

What we have done

• Everything works with a keyboard, and focus is always visible.
• Text and controls meet colour-contrast rules; right and wrong answers are shown in words, not colour alone.
• Pages work at 320 pixels wide and when zoomed.
• Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
• Timed blocks offer extra time (1.25×, 1.5×, 2×), untimed mode and pause.

Known limitations

A full screen-reader test is still to come, and some clinical images do not yet have full text descriptions.
